Who we are
Music Sharing is a song-sharing app run by RMEast Youth (罗马东区青年团契), a church youth fellowship based at Via Principe Eugenio 59, 00185 Rome, Italy. We decide how the personal data in this app is used, which makes us its data controller. To reach us, write to rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com or to that postal address.
What we collect
- Your account: the username you choose and your password, which we store only as a one-way hash. We also keep your role, your account status and the date you joined. We don't ask for your real name, email address or phone number.
- What you post: the songs you share, your notes, comments and likes, and when you posted them.
- Moderation records: who hid a post or comment, or changed an account's status, and when.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser details and the pages you request appear in our web server's logs. Your IP address is also used briefly to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
What others can see
Anyone can read the feed without an account. Your username, songs, notes, comments and likes are public, and your profile page gathers them in one place, so choose a username you're comfortable showing publicly. Moderators and administrators can also see hidden posts and comments, and the status of accounts.
How we use it, and why
- To run the app and your account, which is what you ask for when you join (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the app safe and moderate it, which is in the fellowship's legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
Because this is a church fellowship's app, having an account or sharing worship songs may suggest your religious beliefs. We handle this only to run the app for the fellowship and the people in touch with it (Article 9(2)(d)), and what you post publicly is your own choice (Article 9(2)(e)).
We don't sell your data, show ads or build profiles of you. The app has no analytics or advertising trackers.
Cookies and storage on your device
- A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days, and renews while you keep visiting. Page scripts can't read it, and it's only set once you sign in.
- Your browser's local storage remembers your language.
- Your browser's session storage remembers that the opening animation has played, until you close the tab.
We use these only to make the app work, not to track you. YouTube may store its own data when you play a song, as the next section explains.
YouTube and Google
This app uses YouTube API Services, and it shows content served by YouTube. Google describes how it handles data in the Google Privacy Policy. Members never sign in with Google, and we never see your Google or YouTube account.
- Playing a song: YouTube's player loads only after you press play. YouTube then receives your IP address and device details, and may store cookies or similar data on your device.
- Cover images: we keep our own copy of most covers in the feed. If one is missing, and for song search results, your browser loads the image from Google's image servers, which receive your IP address.
- Finding a song: when a signed-in member searches or pastes a link, our server asks YouTube for the song's details. The request contains what was typed, but not who typed it. We don't keep searches, apart from briefly in the server logs mentioned above.
Google user data
The app asks Google for access to one account only: the fellowship's own Google account, which an administrator connects once. It never asks members or visitors for Google access.
- What we access: the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube, for one purpose only: adding songs to the fellowship's public YouTube playlist and removing them from it. We don't read that account's email, profile, subscriptions, watch history or other playlists.
- What we send to Google: the YouTube ID of each song, never who shared it.
- How we store it: Google's refresh token is kept in the server's private configuration, and short-lived access tokens only in memory.
- How we share it: we don't share, sell or transfer it to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising or to train AI models.
- How to revoke access: as well as removing the token from our server, the account's owner can revoke access at any time on Google's security settings page.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For questions or complaints about this, write to rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com.
Where your data is kept
Your account and posts are stored on a private server in Italy, run for the fellowship. Google may process the data it receives outside the European Union, under the safeguards its privacy policy describes. We share personal data with others only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account and posts stay until your account is deleted.
- When you delete a post or comment, it disappears from the app at once. We keep it in the database so you can undo the deletion and for our records, until your account is deleted or you ask us to remove it.
- Posts and comments hidden by moderators, and moderation records, are kept for as long as they're needed as a record of those decisions. When an account is deleted, the records no longer name it.
- Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and fixing problems.
- To delete your account, write to rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com. We'll delete it and everything you posted within 30 days. Songs you shared may stay in the public playlist, which doesn't name who shared them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy of it. Write to rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to Italy's data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Children
Accounts need an invite code from the fellowship. Anyone under 14 needs the agreement of a parent or guardian before joining. If you think a child has joined without it, write to rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com and we'll remove the account.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, and only moderators and administrators have extra access. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. We'll also tell members about important changes.
Informativa sulla privacy
Ultimo aggiornamento: 3 novembre 2026
Chi siamo
Come li usiamo e perché
I tuoi diritti
如需联系我们,请发送邮件至 rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com,或邮寄至上述地址。
Google
Google
如有相关问题或投诉,请发送邮件至 rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com。
- 如需删除账号,请发送邮件至 rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com。
请发送邮件至 rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com,我们会在一个月内答复。
如果你认为有儿童未经同意就加入了,请发送邮件至 rmdq.qingshaonian@gmail.com,我们会移除该账号。
